This is our 8 Week group Reactive Class. Note this class uses enhanced control techniques to ensure absolute safety at all times including backups on each human and dog.
What is it?
The reactive class is designed to assist you in the everyday outside situation. I know myself only to well having experienced my girl being attacked and diving over her to protect her. I know how it feels as the human both emotionally and the concern for our dogs. This course is to help heal both the human and the dog and build that bond back which so often gets destroyed in these situations. I will be looking for whether your dog is fear based or just naughty and impulse driven. If you ever see me with my dog, you will understand the absolute love I have for her. This course will push you as a human and make you face your fears. This is why safety is of the utmost importance, and I am a drill sergeant on it so you can learn and practice safely.
In this course you will learning all the things that will help you. There are over 90 videos that go with this during the course. There are elements out of all the different courses I have done over the years and so it is always evolving. But I curate the bits that will help you out of these different disciplines and explain to you why you should or should not be doing things based on science and the real world of the dog. These elements are from Assistance Dogs, Security Dogs, Explosive and Scent Dogs, Rehabilitation in Confidence and Precision Training over a 40'000-hour handling career all tied into developing 2-way trust and respect.

What you do with my knowledge to help you comes down to you. You take and apply it and rebuild your dog, or you put it in the too hard basket and not get that special bond I have with my dog that I want everyone to experience. I have a reputation for this for a reason; I will help but I won't pussy foot, I will be direct, I am trying to save your dog.
Who is it for?
The Reactivity Class is designed for any dog that acts in a way toward another dog that is inconsistent with expected societal norms. This includes at one end of the scale Labradors who just want to "Hug" everyone in the park which gets them into fights or pulls their humans over trying to love other humans - all the way up to the other end of the scale with dogs that have been attacked and are fear aggressive or have progressed through to outright attacking other dogs on the walk. We show you how to initially get control both with your leadership in the home and outside then work with you to change the behavior of your dog so that it makes a better decision and builds new Neural pathways in the brain for better choices and calms down the vagus nerve in the dog's central nervous system. This creates confidence in you and in your dog to be able to be out in public. This is not suitable for aggression toward humans that behavior requires one of our aggression packs. There is still a lot of work that is required by the human to teach your dog to make a better decision we help you to do that.
What's next and what do we need from you
Once you have completed the full 8 weeks of Reactive Class, you will have both skill and knowledge to continue your training. You will be able to start manners level 1 - just ensure the trainer knows in advance to avoid any other potential accidental client dog interactions.

What is the Content?
Week 1
- We start to teach the psychology of what is going thru your dog's mind.
- We teach the dog how to start to self-regulate to a calming state of mind
- We start to teach the dog to trust the parents in more stressful situations
- We start to teach the human to be a leader not an alfa and apply less stressful nervous system interactions.
Week 2
- We teach a walking focus exercise so that the dog learns to follow the leg of the human. This is combined with other techniques later for week 7.
- We start the process of teaching the dog to look at the object of fear/hate/obsession and the to disengage from it voluntarily without food.
Week 3
- We continue to teach disengagement but increase the related stress under control
- We start teaching scent search to increase confidence and owner trust and engagement. Similar to the explosive's dogs in war zones.
Week 4
- We teach the dog how to focus on their human without being told to
- Real world practice of previous weeks
Week 5
- We begin teaching walking disengagement toward a target
- We begin teaching stationary front disengagement
- Building resilience around sounds using the above techniques and also how to simulate it at home.
Week 6
- A European military exercise to counter condition sound related issues that affect the dog's ability to focus and disengage.
Week 7
- We teach the dog to learn to consistently check in to the human in moments of stress in the same way we teach our mental health assistant dogs that we train.
- We start teaching how to build space resilience with the human in a nonverbal or food driven way, that they are ok and you are there for them.

Manners Level 1 Description, Location and Booking
8 Week Course - $397
Our Manners Level 1 Group Training is designed for a young or adolescent dog that is impulsive or lacks manners and is on the road to bad or poor behavior, but it has not fully embedded yet. This is an ideal course once you graduate puppy school as not only do we teach you some reactive and assistance class skills but also our original level 1 obedience. The reason for this course as such is the feedback received as to how much it shaped naughty adolescent dogs and prevented them from being reactive because their owners knew what to do. As the owner and lead behaviorist I have over 40'000 hours experience handling dogs and have been doing this for well over a decade.
This course has been born out of the fact of the volume of young dogs I am seeing in my aggressive and reactive courses, and it needs to stop - there is absolutely no need for a dog to be like this. My job is to teach you how to talk dog - in a manner that does not use fear but does enforce boundaries in a mutually trusting and respectful relationship.
But like kids they will push back - they will have spectacular tantrums - but will come out the other end a much better canine citizen and a relationship with your dog others will be jealous of.
To be able to teach dogs - like kids a certain level of control is needed to be able to shape the behaviors required. We use a mixture of both control halters, food, voice and touch to achieve this. Food is for shaping only and only at certain times. If your dog has not done a puppy school and learnt the basics then please let the trainer know so we can show you how to shape the appropriate behaviors with food first. Then we can show you the other positive techniques, so you become the reward. For most dog parents few realize the implications of not doing early intervention and teaching young. By the time they realize there is an issue the behavior and corresponding neural connections are established and this will take time to lesson and teach them to make better choices just like humans. It can also be traumatic if they have a strong dog or have been given the wrong advice. Now is the time to book or reach out for help.

Week 1- Core basic Obedience - Heel, Sit, Stay, Self-Regulation

Week 3- Core basic Obedience - Drop Stay, Stand Stay, Return to Heel
Week 4- The start of and process of trust exercises with and without environmental stimulus. The humans will learn how to talk dog and apply themselves as leaders in all of these situations and more.
Week 5- The process of disengagement basics starts to be taught. The process of being able to focus without instruction starts to be taught.
Week 6- The application of boundary control with doorways and visitors starts to be taught. The dogs commence learning the appropriate way to behave in a market style environment.
Week 7- The humans start to learn how to apply everyday surroundings to build confidence and ability in their dog while enhancing their relationship.
Week 8- The humans start to learn some important but basic assistance dog tasks with their own dogs. Graduation and refresh of previous weeks.

Manners Level 2 Description, Location and Booking
8 Week Course - $397

- Can do Club Obedience at this level once you have graduated from Manners Level 2 only.
- A maximum of 6 new dogs per 8 week course - excluding any club obedience that already know what they are doing.
- Both hands-on commands and socialization via being around other dogs in a controlled manner without personal interactions.

Scent for Confidence Description, Location and Booking

Scent for confidence is a little different to our Scent for fun. This is for the new and nervous puppies where there is the slower learning curve and learning that not everything bites. We still only have 1 dog at a time in the arena so they have the freedom to be free. The time spent at this level is up to you and your pup. However, if you dog marks/wees in the course then they will be required to where a belly band to stop this.
We want them to have a positive experience learning how to conquer all of the challenges set forth so then you can engage and replicate it at home as well.

Scent for Fun Description, Location and Booking
10minutes for $15 - As many runs as you can get in during that time.
Scent for Fun is the older slightly more confident pup. And the next steppingstone for those doing Scent for Confidence. This is for the pups that understand scent pays and will tackle new things and obstacles to attain it. The learning curve is faster as they already know what to do. We still only have 1 dog at a time in the arena so they have the freedom to be free. The timer is set for 10mins. In and Out in a timely fashion so we can keep it cheap. This is not a lesson (that is $177) or a chat with the trainer, this is to create an intense enjoyable experience for your dog to exhaust them. Ninja Dogs - Skill and Balance Description, Location and Booking
30 Minute Class for $15 - Maximum 3 Participants
Before we hit the content there are some pretty strict rules for this class for absolute safety. If you or your dog breach these you are out, it is as simple as that, until you can prove otherwise.
You cannot join if your dog is in any state of excitement or arousal High or Low the following
- Dog Selective
- Dog Impulsive
- Dog Reactive
- Dog Aggressive
- ANY human reactivity or aversion
Your dog must be Neutral around other dogs in higher and lower states of arousal and excitement. Whilst they will be on lead there will be times that this won't be possible with higher level tasks.
The Content
The purpose of this for me is fun. I can teach your dog amazing skills and show you how to build toward that goal. Skill and Balance is exactly that, you would be amazed what ADHD can dream up to push the envelope in a fun way with your dog and exhaust them fast.
This is why safety is of the utmost importance. If I am teaching a complex maneuverer, I do not want a dog that can't fully focus due to fear or other with another dog, accidents will happen and that is not a risk I am willing to take. Alternatively, if it is conditioning exercises for injury or strength building, they will still need to be neutral for safety.
Any dog that wees/marks during the time will be required to wear a belly band till such time they don't.

Puppy School Description, Location and Booking

This is not your run of the mill puppy school – we are here to ensure the proper development of your puppy, not add on sell you or throw treats in with the puppies and call it socialization. The course has been designed on the feedback from clients unhappy with what is in the marketplace, there are now a number of other businesses that copy our formats and methods as we lead the way. Because the puppies start at different times - not only in age but any week to make it easier for clients to get in, this means that puppies will be learning different commands to each other in the class and will also graduate at different times. This also means that they get to meet different sets of puppies for socialisation purposes and learn different skills in the pen with each. We have a strict policy that if during puppy school we find out that you have breached our rules of no socializing in or around dog parks including off lead dog areas you will be ejected from class for endangering other younger pups. Be respectful of other puppies and owners. The trainers are trained in Dog Behavior and are in the field training dogs and dealing with behavioral issues with clients every day – not trained in a shop reading a book on learning it via an in-store training system. We have seen too many clients disappointed with what's on offer or given incorrect even dangerous advice in stores. There are a maximum of only 6 puppies allowed per trainer in each class to ensure you and your dog learn what you need to, and we strongly encourage families to bring their kids to learn. We film all classes to ensure safety of pups and clients.
Puppy school is about the dogs learning how to play appropriately with dogs their own age not learning how to be ruff from older dogs. This is a controlled environment and show you how to do this. Resilience is the name of the game - we teach you how to get a puppy confident so when it is older it can realize they can cope with the human world not be a blithering mess afraid of different environments. We have a lot of online videos to assist with your learning at home not just in class. Please note – these puppies are in the most formative part of their life – as such we never use any technique that is cruel, inhumane or harsh. The course is designed to use treats to MAP in their mind specific behaviors for later in life. Once they graduate and are old enough we don’t use food constantly unless behaviours have not been shaped prior during a puppy school. We teach you how to use your voice and affection and sometimes toys to teach our dogs basic commands and basic obedience.
Age Requirements
For Puppies - Puppies must have completed their puppy school by the finish date as listed below. This means if you start at the latest possible time, you will only be able to do a 4-week puppy school and miss out on some of the skills that we teach in the longer puppy schools. All puppies must provide proof of the first vaccination.
Toy Breeds
- Can Start up to 20 weeks of age. i.e. Chihuahua, Maltese, Shih Tzu, Pomeranian
- Will be approximately 2kg by 16weeks of age.
- Must be finished by 24 weeks of age.
Small Breeds
- Can Start up to 18 weeks of age. i.e.. Pug, French Bulldog, Jack Russel, Cavalier
- Will be approximately 3.5kg by 16weeks of age.
- Must be finished by 22 weeks of age.
Medium Breeds
- Can Start up to 17 weeks of age i.e. Border Collie, Cocker Spaniel, Corgi, Whippet
- Will be approximately 7 kg by 16weeks of age.
- Must be finished by 21 weeks of age.
Large Breeds
- Can Start up to 16 weeks of age i.e. Malamute, Boxer, Bloodhound, Doberman, German Shepard, Labrador, Golden Retriever
- Will be approximately 18kg by 16 weeks of age.
- Must be finished by 20 weeks of age.
Giant Breeds
- Can start up to 16 weeks of age
- Will be approximately 25kg by 16 weeks of age.
- Must be finished by 20 weeks of age.

Week 2
- We cover Drop and Sit – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Puppy playtime while explaining behaviors and ensuring correct play for healthy development.
Week 3
- We cover Drop with a hand signal, Sit with a hand signal – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Puppy playtime while explaining behaviors and ensuring correct play for healthy development.
Week 4
- We cover Stay and Recall – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Puppy playtime while explaining behaviors and ensuring correct play for healthy development.

- We cover medical desensitization (Anal Glands, Ears) and Confidence 1 (Learning how to build confidence on a moving object) – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Week 6
- We cover medical desensitization (Holding without squirming, Mouth/Teeth) and Confidence 2 (Learning how to build confidence on a wobble object) – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. - Graduation for the 6-week class course
Week 7
- We cover medical desensitization (Nail Grinding, paw up for bloods) and Confidence 3 (Learning how to build confidence on textural objects) – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. Week 8
- We cover medical desensitization (Injections on the back) and Confidence 4 (Learning how to build confidence with unusual objects) – this is where we show you how to do the exercise and you get to practice this in class with your dog. - Respect the other puppies and their owners by not going to environments that can risk other puppies in society in general.
- Watch the videos we give you access to. Unlike other organizations we opted to put these online rather than waste a potential week of critical learning for your puppies.

Recall Level 1 Description, Location and Booking
8 Week Course for $397
Our Recall Group Training is designed to teach you how to build communication and positive engagement with your dog. This class is not suitable for reactive dogs or overly impulsive dogs. Impulse control will need to be taught first either via Manners classes or in your home training. If there is any potential for a poor interaction than your class experience will be limited or you will be transferred to a more appropriate class. This is because there is a higher potential for danger in this class with potential unpredictability. You must also have significantly higher controls as we limit the use of Halters in this class. If your dog is used to a beep from a bark collar, then your dog will significantly struggle due to an established association with a beep preceding pain.
If none of these are issues, then we will be able to start to teach you varied techniques in Recall.
To be able to teach dogs - like kids a certain level of control is needed to be able to shape the behaviors required. We use a mixture of both control halters, food and voice and touch to achieve this. Food is for shaping only and only at certain times. If your dog has not done a puppy school and learnt the basics then please let the trainer know so we can show you how to shape the appropriate behaviors with food first.

Confidence Building Course Description, Location and Booking
50min Lesson - $50
The Confidence and Enrichment Course Information
The price for this class is $50 per Session with a maximum of 2 dogs. This is for any dog or puppy under 7 months. This would suit dogs or large breeds that just missed puppy school. Whilst not socialization we can tailor it individually to help you.
This is done only at our Lawnton Facility on a Saturday during the day.
The purpose of this course is to help expose your Pup or dog to as many unique challenges as possible to build their confidence in this critical early stage. If is designed around food and toys to teach you how to counter condition issues that may arise in the future while building their resilience.
We also add enrichment activities to help teach you how to give your pup a healthy all-round mental stimulation.

Pet Sitting Description and Packages
For some of our client's doggy day care is not an option but want someone to visit their dog, play with it or look after it in the home while at work. For some this may be their preferred option of dealing with separation anxiety, medical issues or other things. This is where we can help. So, what is in the package? The first lesson is to address issues that will be exacerbating the external situation and teaching you how to control different scenarios. the following lessons are done out and about so we can teach you what and how to deal with the outside world.
- When the team come out to help you the first thing we establish is the background and whether it is fear based or just naughty and impulse driven.
- This Reactivity Package is designed for any dog that acts in a way toward another dog that is inconsistent with expected norms.
- This includes at one end of the scale Labradors who just want to "Hug" everyone in the park which gets them into fights or pulls their humans over trying to love other humans - all the way up to the other end of the scale with dogs that have been attacked and are fear aggressive.
- We show you how to initially get control both with your leadership in the home and outside then work with you to change the behavior of your dog so that it makes a better decision. This creates confidence in you and in your dog to be able to be out in public. This is not suitable for aggression toward humans or higher level reactivity.
